External User Management still does not work when integration with Crowd

This issue has been discussed before as part of an bigger issue (BAM-1681). To prevent any confusion about what the issue is I created an new issue.

The problem is as follows:

• Use external usermanagement is turned on in bamboo
• Add an Jabber account to your bamboo profile
• When saving the email adres is removed from the Crowd principal. This is very undesired behavior!

In issue BAM-1681 Justin Koke stated the documentation would reflect that external user management should be turned off. However the documentation still is explicit about turning it ON:

Furthermore, I can't understand that Bamboo still does not support external user management with Crowd. I'm not trying any 3th party tools here. I'm trying to integrate with an tool from Atlassian itself! Leaving external user management in bamboo OFF is very disappointing to us. Please provide a real solution for integration with Crowd asap.
