Description
The scenario is as follows:
- Developer A makes a commit to a library X
- Library A builds successfully and kicks off the build of application Y
- Application Y build fails because application Y is not compatible with the changes made in library X
- Developer A is not notified
I would like the developer or developers that caused the downstream breakage to be notified.
This can be accomplished by looking at the metadata of the failing build. This metadata contains all of the build plan's parents. It should be easy to check if there are committers for those builds, and if so, assign them as responsible.
The data is available in bamboo, just need to act on it
