Automation integrations with other Atlassian products - more cross-product triggers and actions for Trello, Confluence, Confluence Whiteboards, and Jira

    • Our product teams collect and evaluate feedback from a number of different sources. To learn more about how we use customer feedback in the planning process, check out our new feature policy.

      Suggested use cases

      • There are some use cases where a cross-product triggers in Automation rules in Atlassian products. i.e. If a Jira Issue is mentioned by a Confluence page, a link is created in the Jira issue automatically, Automation should be able to use this "mentioned by" as a trigger
      • Trello integration for automation, e.g. action to create Trello cards based on Jira issues status - I need to create a card on trello when specific Jira issue is marked as in progress & it has a pull request linked to it.
      • More Confluence actions in Jira - Create/comment pages, Add events to team calendars, Link Confluence pages to Jira tickets, allow automation for Jira to change a page to read only on confluence.
      • Ability to work with Confluence content in Jira rules
      • Currently there are new actions for pages and blogs, it would be nice to have the ability to also
        • create new whiteboard
        • copy a whiteboard (as there doesn't seem to be an ability to create whiteboard templates yet)

Currently, there is a "create confluence page" action but no triggers or conditions including confluence page links.
It would be great to have a trigger when a confluence page is linked to an issue.
Or, it can be included in the "Issue Updated" or "Issue Linked" triggers.

Please include this ability in Automation for Jira.

Refer to Automating the creation of a Confluence page linked to a Jira ticket to create Confluence pages using automation rule.

No possibility to link an existing Confluence page with an existing Jira ticket. And no options in API neither in Automation.

Really? And we pay for such product... Atlassian ! Move, come on.

What I would like to do in the Automation is when a Jira ticket is transitioned, the related Trello board would move the corresponding card to the next column.

It is disappointing to see a basic feature, creating a confluence page with smart values (existing Jira rules) from a Jira ticket still not possible after almost two years of this being initially raised.

A better integration between Jira and Confluence will definitely help organisations be more efficient.

            My use case:

Move a Trello card from one list to another, based on the value of a field in Jira Product Discovery.

Currently this tool is useless. Please improve the integration, it blows my mind I need to use webhooks to create custom pages when the templates exist.... I shouldnt have to pay a second subscription to get basic functionality.

Specifying the contents of the page would also be a huge improvement.

This is a really useful thing to have, not just convenience, but security. Using the web request approach (linked in the description) is ok, but does mean that some has to put their access token into the automation rule in plain text which is really bad.
