NOTE: This suggestion is for Confluence Cloud. Using Confluence Server? See the corresponding suggestion.

Currently the search results only cover the latest versions of pages and attachments. It might be a useful feature to be able to search ALL history.

Use case: I know there was a document containing "Apple" online at some stage, but right now I can't find it because someone has removed the word "Apple" from it in the latest version.

We would need this feature to answer GDPR requests. Assuming there is some personal data about someone in Confluence, and this person uses their right to be forgotten, we must remove it from every place where we are not asked to keep it by law. E.g. if there is a list with employee names in an old version we wouldn't find nowadays that the name was there and the version of the article had to be deleted and will therefore break the European law.

We are using Confluence for our weekly meeting notes. We edit weekly the same page. It would be nice to be able to search the page history so that you can easily find things of earlier meetings.  It might be a useful feature to be able to search all history versions.

This feature would be very useful for us.

We are using Confluence pages for MoM and overwrite it on a weekly basis. Looking for previous discussions/conclusions would be a real benefit.

I am using Scroll Versions plugin by k15t to provide enhanced versioning functionality to my documentation. Since page versions created via this plugin remain live (i.e., they don't go into Confluence Archive), they remain searchable. Search results display the snippet and the page version they belong to.

Searching version history would come very handy.

Use case: I know a date I have worked on a topic (e.g. as I received or send an e-mail on a specific date). As I cannot remember the title assigned to the page, nor the detailed location it would be very handy to search for al page versions modifies on a specific date.
