      Atlassian Update: September 16, 2021
      Hi Confluence Cloud customers,

Exciting news, we’ve been making some improvements to Search Analytics in Confluence! This analytics feature is available for our Premium edition users. Here you’ll be able to see details about search terms including their click through rate, total number of searches and number of individual users who are looking for that query, with more functionality coming soon! We’re thrilled to finally close out this long-lived ticket!

Documentation for this is available here: https://support.atlassian.com/confluence-cloud/docs/view-insights-on-your-site/

Thank you again for persisting with us on this feature suggestion and for sharing your feedback. For any further improvement suggestions that haven’t been addressed in this change, please open a new ticket so that we can gauge interest and feedback for each request.

      Best,

It would be extremely helpful to see global search history reporting to see what is being most requested (to help improve documentation)

          Form Name

[AI-569] Add search statistics to global activity

Pinging a very old ticket per support's advice to +1 this feature request - I work as a Librarian to streamline and organize documentation and this would be a major plus for any professionals/companies looking to refine their site's taxonomy or have a comprehensive overview of what types of information users are searching for. We're currently unable to access these data (despite attempting to track it via Google Analytics) and a built-in feature would not only fill our business need but make the Confluence product as a whole more valuable. Thank you!

It is a rather glaring omission, isn't it?

I want such functionality as well. Is there any new plugin which made current issue obsolete? I don't see any new comments since 2008, but I can't imagine people using confluence without such a common knowledge as a search statistics.

I support Teemu Qvick requirement list. However I would enhance their justification with the following:

            • Search analytics would allow us to determine when users are having difficulty finding or fail to find information. We can then contact them to determine their issue and then address this i.e. the Search may be working well, but he content may not be there.

We also have MS Sharepoint and the inability to be able to a) determine to how someone is using it and b) more importantly the value they get from it is a major failing (other then that fact its this awful to use!)

In addition to storing Analytic search data something that may help further is Esper http://esper.codehaus.org/. This would potentially allow real time alerting (RSS) when someone is struggling to find information i.e. looked for a similar term 10 times in the last 5 minutes.

            Hope this helps

This would be very important tool for improving content in Confluence. What we would like to see is:

            • Used search terms (answering what users tried to search from here)
              • in the whole Confluence
              • per space
              • possibly per page
            • The amount of
              • times the search term was used
              • results the search term gave

The goal would be track down terms that are used often but give poor results.

I agree. Also, if we could see the most requested searches that gave no results, we would know what is missing in documentation and focus our efforts on it.
