      Searching a text starting or ending with an equal sign (=) fails with an error in Confluence.

      Environment

      Steps to Reproduce

      • Go to Confluence in Cloud
      • Search for any of the following
      =
      =text
      text=

      Expected Results

      Search result or no result found message should appear.

      Actual Results

      Using quick search, the page returned shows the message

      Oops - an error has occurred. System Error

      Using the search page, an error message is returned. 

      Oops, something went wrong with your search.We could not successfully complete the search. java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: INVALID_SYNTAX_CANNOT_PARSE: Syntax Error, cannot parse d=:

            rmacalinao I looked at this yesterday and I could reproduce the issue, but I tried again on eac and pug and I can't reproduce it any more.

            Could this have been fixed in the brief time since this issue was raised?
