NOTE: This bug report is for Confluence Cloud. Using Confluence Server? See the corresponding bug report.
Confluence instance which integrated with Crowd, seems to return an inconsistence result when searching users or groups(created via Crowd) using wildcards.
For example, there is a user called "testuser" being added in the Crowd instance. Doing a search in the Confluence's Manage Users page with the following input to the username session returns the result as outlined:
Search query | Result |
---|---|
* | Return all users from Crowd and Confluence (including the user, testuser) |
test* | Return no result |
t* | Return no result |
testuser* | Return the expected result |
The situation is reproducible when searching for groups which were created in Crowd too. The inconsistency occurred when assigning space permission to groups.
