Issue Summary
The "Search" field expands automatically when it receives keyboard focus.
Steps to Reproduce
- Open the Jira/JSM Cloud homepage.
- Using a screen reader, navigate through the page using the Tab key.
- Observe that content associated with the "Search" field is displayed automatically on keyboard focus.
Screen Recording
Actual Results
When users navigate any Jira or JSM page using the Tab key from the header section, the "Search" field automatically expands as soon as it receives focus. This forces users to either collapse the field (by pressing Escape) or navigate through all its associated content.
As a result, keyboard-only and screen reader users are required to traverse the entire content of the Search field unnecessarily.
Expected Results
The Search field should not automatically expand or display suggestions when it receives keyboard focus.
Suggestions should appear only when the user starts typing or explicitly interacts with the field, such as pressing Arrow Down to open the list.
Update the scripts to prevent the Search field from expanding automatically on focus, ensuring that keyboard-only and screen reader users are not forced to navigate through unnecessary content.
Workaround
Currently there is no known workaround for this behavior. A workaround will be added here when available.
