      Issue Summary

      Confluence search does not display partial search results

      This is reproducible : yes

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. Create a page with a title similar to "TheStory"
      2. Search the page using "Story"
      3. Observe the search results

      Expected Results

      The search result could partially match the page "TheStory" and list it in the results.

      Actual Results

      The search result does not display the "TheStory" page

       

      Note: This behaviour is consistent across all the languages.

      Workaround

      Add a space between the two words which will help fetch the page through the search.

            I hope this issue is resolved quickly. A correctly functioning search feature is quite necessary for a quality knowledge base. We document quite a bit about our network (to include server names, hostnames, FQDNs, etc.) and often it is not feasible to "add white space" around names as a workaround so the search function works. Partial matches should show as search results. For example if I have "mountoxford" on a page and search for "oxford" then that page should show up in the search results list (but as of today, it does not).

            I am using Confluence in French and in this langage we often put "L' " in front of a word (which means "the").
            For instance, I have created a Confluence page called "L'histoire", which means "The Story".
            Actually I found out that when we try to search for "histoire" in Confluence, the page "L'histoire" can't be found.
            It actually causes a lot of struggles for my users: many pages can't be found because of that...
