      Problem Definition

With change to Trello, Bitbucket, Statuspage and OpsGenie Accounts being managed in an Atlassian Organization, Administrators would like for their users to IdP Initiated login to these applications.

In Okta, chiclet/buttons are utilized to initiate IdP login to Apps

      Why this is important

There is not an option to display a JSM Customer Portal/Trello/Bitbucket/Statuspage/Opsgenie chiclet/button with the "Atlassian Cloud" App (it currently supports Jira and Confluence); this can lead to confusion for Users that only have access to these products.

      Suggested Solution

Update the "Atlassian Cloud" App in Okta to add a link to Trello, Bitbucket and Statuspage products for IdP Initiated login.

      Workaround

[ACCESS-830] Update Atlassian Cloud App in Okta to include Trello, Bitbucket, Statuspage and OpsGenie Chiclets

It was a long journey! Thank you to all who helped to make this possible

            Hi all,

We have worked with the Okta team to add more product icons and now support these products:

            • Trello
            • Bitbucket
            • Statuspage (previously added)
            • Jira Service Management
            • Jira Work Management
            • Compass

Opsgenie will require some more work on Atlassian side - keep an eye out for this. We will also continue to add more Atlassian products in the future!

If you have any further feedback, please let us know.

            Cheers,

Understood! We are in the migration process of coming into the cloud from the server and data center so the experience for our end users is new but also not breaking from what they are used to. We are positioned to have 2 Confluence clouds and 3 Jira Clouds so not even sure how Atlassian plans to handle those types of situations where it's 2 okta chiclets but depending on the user they could go to Jira 1 or Jira 2; there are situations where a single user might have access to both Confluence cloud instances but only one Jira instance.

While this would definitely work, we have avoided doing this for two reasons. A. We would need to break the existing Atlassian Cloud app since we can only have a single SSO authorization linked to our instance and B. It is a better experience for users to quickly go to the specific tools that they need.

While we as IT understand that all the various products live under Atlassian, most users see them as separate but linked systems. IE Jira, our Service Management Help Center, Trello, etc. I would like to avoid the extra process of signing into a landing page and then going to the right system. It's definitely a small issue but one that shouldn't exist.

            Chris,

Have you tried to implement a single SSO link start.atlassian.com which will bring the end users to a home page that will provide access to all the products they have assigned to their account?

This is something that we are looking for desperately. As we adopt more services from Atlassian (Atlas, Service Management, etc) the Atlassian Cloud app is not meeting the needs of our company. Due to the limitation of having a single SSO app linked to our Atlassian instance, it makes it very difficult to create a seamless experience for our users across your ecosystem.

Google Workspace Apps uses a similar setup to your Atlassian Cloud app, but they have numerous links for products such as Mail, Calendar, Keep etc.

I too would appreciate any updates your teams have as this is a big priority for us.

            Hi there,

What sort of ETA is there for this? Is it on the roadmap? Looks like it's been in progress since November.

As with many others here, we moved (read, purchased) to Atlassian Access and are disappointed to have effectively lost SSO functionality for OpsGenie.

So after your support recommended we switch from OpsGenie SSO direct to Okta to Atlassian Access SSO to Okta we stumbled into this issue.
Not happy, why suggest to implement a breaking change that then removes functionality? Makes no sense.
            Please resolve.

A simple fix would be to just fix this bug https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CLOUD-11356 which would allow the base URL to be set to start.atlassian.com. It's a good landing page that allows the end-user to select the product they want to access.

I assume it's also not dependent on OKTA making any changes from their end.
