After upgrading JIRA Agile, an user get the 'Rank index was requested before the plugin was upgraded fully' exception

    Description

      Symptom

      JIRA Agile upgrade issues (from version 6.3.1 to 6.3.2.1).

      Please note that the user did not tried to upgrade from 6.3.1 to 6.3.2 due known bugs mentioned here and here.

      Steps to reproduce the problem:

      1. Upgraded from UPM
      2. JIRA started to be unavailable/unresponsive (for about 2 or 3 minutes after download progress bar disappeared from the screen)
      3. In catalina.out, thrown the following stack trace:

      Cannot get value from RestAwareField customfield_10512, exception: 'Rank index was requested before the plugin was upgraded fully'

      4. JIRA stop / start solved all issues:

      • JIRA agile shows version 6.3.2.1 now
      • full indexing performed (just-in-case), and
      • integrity check passed (full)

      Finding

      Both JIRA and JIRA Agile works fine (for now).
