      Summary

      Login-free customer portal it does not create a customer account in case there is a trailing blank space.

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. Enable the login-free portal.
      2. Access the portal and try to raise a request.
      3. On the email confirmation to field start by adding either a leading or trailing space and then complete with your email.
      4. Submit the request.

      Expected Results

      Jira should remove the blank space and create the request.

      Actual Results

      At customer portal the below error message is shown:

      Couldn't send request
      Signup is not currently available

      The below exception is thrown in logs:

      stack:	 com.atlassian.jira.exception.CreateException: com.atlassian.crowd.exception.InvalidUserException: User name may not contain leading or trailing whitespace
      

      Notes:
      It seems a regression of JSDCLOUD-4134.

      Workaround

      Remove the trailing spaces and submit the request once again.
