    Description

      Issue Summary

The reporter field is not showing the required user in the suggestion when username contains brackets in it and the user is searched with the name present in the bracket.

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. Install 5.14.1
      2. Create a new user Administrator (Zubin Gautam). You can use any name but keep a similar format. Add this user to the service desk group.
      3. Project settings --> add a user to a role --> select the newly created user and add him to the service desk team.
      4. Create a new ticket with some dummy assignee and reporter.
      5. Try changing the assignee by typing Zubin and you will be able to see the username in the suggestion box. If you are not seeing the user, try searching for the user with "administrator" and then assign it.
      6. Once again remove the user from the assignee field and again try searching for the user with Zubin and you should see the user in the suggestion now.
      7. This is not the case with the reporter field. The user is not seen in the suggestion box when we try to search with whatever name is present inside the bracket for eg : Zubin)
      8. In version, 5.0.0, I can see that user is shown in the suggestion of the reporter field when searched with the name present in the bracket.

      Expected Results

      • The User should be shown in the suggestion box searched with the name present in the bracket in the reporter field.

      Actual Results

      • The User is not shown in the suggestion box searched with the name present in the bracket in the reporter field.

      Workaround

      • Refer to How to manage dark features in Jira and disable this feature flag: com.atlassian.jira.ignoreBrowseUsersPermissionsInUserPickers
        1. Navigate to <BASE_URL>/secure/admin/SiteDarkFeatures!default.jspa
        2. Enter com.atlassian.jira.ignoreBrowseUsersPermissionsInUserPickers.disabled in the Enable dark feature section.
        3. Click on Add.

OR Search the user with a name which is not present in the bracket of the username.
