    • Our product teams collect and evaluate feedback from a number of different sources. To learn more about how we use customer feedback in the planning process, check out our new feature policy.

NOTE: This suggestion is for JIRA Cloud. Using JIRA Server? See the corresponding suggestion.

With reference to: Project Imports should include relevant Active Objects data, please provide a solution for a running system, using Agile (GreenHopper), giving users the possibility to get a fully data backup (including Sprints, Epics, Story Points, etc.) and to restore it afterwards.

This would enable us to save all our current data, a lot of time and the users satisfaction regarding Jira.

Matt, thanks for remember that. The first time we faced that problem it was in connection with a Project Import (after we had finished the Agile evaluation on a separate system). It seems, I've focussed to much on that.

Would be great, if it really works with the full backup and import, even in connection with an upgrade and possibly different versions of the export/import plugin.

Jose, just to clarify. There is a regular database backup and an XML backup of the whole of JIRA which has all data, including the data for add-ons such as Agile. You can import the whole backup and all the data is preserved (wouldn't be much of a backup otherwise!)

The problem is that there is a feature called Project Import that will let you import just one JIRA project from an XML backup. That kind of import that doesn't import the add-on data.

Eric Kieling Atlassian - really appreciate you pointing this out. Thanks!
Jason Wong Atlassian and Nick Menere Atlassian - this is a problem that we will have to address either in 7.0 or very soon after. The short summary is that GH data stored in AO will not be imported when doing a project import. Seeing that we're making boards a core part of the project, it's making a shitty experience even worse. Thoughts? (I know you guys have 0 time)
