Description
Resolution update - 18 January 2024
Hi All,
David from the Confluence Cloud team here. Thank you all for your feedback on this feature suggestion. I wanted to share an update as of 18 January 2024.
Decision
We will be updating the status of this feature suggestion to Closed - Won’t Do. This issue is a duplicate of https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONFCLOUD-39256 which was closed on 19 December 2023.
Rationale
Unless a user explicitly has read access to information in Jira via having a Jira license or via anonymous/public access being enabled for a Jira project, we cannot that display that information to them in Confluence Cloud.
Workaround
To allow users to only read Jira data in Confluence via the Jira Issue Macro, we recommend either granting them read-only Jira access (learn more). Or, you can add anonymous access to view and search for issues in a project** (learn more) Heads up: Anyone on the internet will be able to view and search for issues in your project if you enable this, so it may not make sense for all use cases.
** This is not supported by Jira Service Management projects.
Problem Definition
Customer has made a page of confluence that he wants to share with his customers, a changelog of their software, so their clients can see the titles of their tickets, but without the possibility of accessing the tickets themselves.
Suggested Solution
Allow configuration on JIRA Issue/Filter macro to display issue's summary for users without Jira access
Workaround
Allow anonymous access to issue on Jira.
