errant line break in custom fields 

Steps to Reproduce

1. add a text custom field
2. place the cursor anywhere but the end of the text 
3. press return

Expected Results

A custom field is created with no line break

Actual Results

a line break is created in a custom field 

Workaround

move the cursor to the end of the text after editing the custom field
