As a Trello user, I can create a new checklist item in any position on the checklist so that I save time by not having to drag items up from the bottom of the list.

User Problem

Users sometimes want to add a new checklist items in a specific location within the checklist, to better meet their prioritization or organization needs. Right now, new items can only be created at the bottom of the list, and it can be cumbersome to drag items to the correct location in a very long list.

Suggested Solutions

• Allow users to create an item at any location by double clicking, just as users can currently add a card or list in any position by double clicking between two other cards or lists.

• When editing a checklist item and pressing “Enter”, open a new blank checklist item on the next line. This way users could click into another checklist to easily create a new one below it.

Current Workarounds

Users can drag new items up from the bottom of the checklist to any position within the list.
