      User Problem

Currently, it's not possible to set up or sign in with physical security keys (e.g. Yubikey) for two-step verification on Trello Desktop (MacOS).

Trello Desktop makes use of the Electron Framework. There is currently a known issue with Electron which blocks this: https://github.com/electron/electron/issues/24573. Similarly, there's also a known issue affecting the log in with Apple Flow & security keys: https://github.com/Mastermindzh/tidal-hifi/issues/248

      Suggested Solutions

Add support for physical security keys in the Trello Desktop app. This may rely on a future update provide by Electron. It also may require Trello being updated to support a newer version of Electron.

      Current Workarounds

Access Trello via the web - trello.com through your browser.

Make use of an alternative Atlassian Account 2FA methods, such as using an Authenticator App or SMS messages.

If using a third-party service to sign in (Google, Microsoft, Apple), explore alternative 2FA methods.
