User Problem
Currently, you can only create Due Date Automations that perceive the passage of time based of the card's actual Due Date field.
Suggested Solutions
Allow for Due Date Automations based on the Due Date Custom field
Current Workarounds
Use the Due Date of the card to create that workflow, however, that could be taken by a secondary purpose.
