User Problem

Customer need Butler automations to trigger based on when a custom date field's value arrives , the same way native Due Date triggers work. Currently, the only custom field date trigger fires at the moment the value is set or changed, not when the actual calendar date arrives. This forces users to repurpose the native Due Date field for tracking, even when Due Date is already in use for another purpose on their boards.

Suggested Solutions

Add calendar-based triggers for custom date fields that continuously watch the stored date value and fire when:

• "When [Custom Field: Date] is today"

• "X days before/after [Custom Field: Date]"

• "When [Custom Field: Date] has passed"

This would bring custom date fields to parity with the native Due Date field for automation/trigger purposes.

Current Workarounds

No other workaround available for triggering automations when a custom date field's value arrives.
