Request for a configurable option in Trello to manage email thread replies

      User Problem

      Users managing business processes through Trello cards created from emails need more flexibility in handling email threads. Currently, when a card is created from an email, any subsequent replies in that thread are automatically added as comments to the existing card for 7 days. While this helps avoid duplicate cards, it can cause important updates, such as completed tasks or new documents, to be overlooked if they are added as comments rather than creating new cards.

      Suggested Solutions

      Introduce a configurable option that allows users to choose how replies in an email thread are handled.  Users can select whether replies create a new card instead of being added as comments.

      Current Workarounds

      Currently, users can only ensure new cards are created by starting a new email thread. No direct workaround is available to customize the existing email thread handling behavior in Trello.
