Embedded Instagram links stop showing previews with a 403 URL signature expired response.

Instagram generates tokens for image URLs that are invalidated after some time. The resolution for now is to keep generating new share links from instagram posts so they would have new tokens, and that is too much to upkeep.

Suggested Solutions

It was suggested that we can check the thumbnail url expiry (or send a request to check) for these instagram/facebook image/thumbnail links in our public link resolver and pass the refresh=true parameter upstream to fetch an updated thumbnail if its expired.

Current Workarounds

Create a new link to the post with Share button in Instagram. That will generate a new link with an updated image URL. With the new link, create a new Trello card.
