Add the ability to edit certain Custom Fields from the card front

    • Our product teams collect and evaluate feedback from a number of different sources. To learn more about how we use customer feedback in the planning process, check out our new feature policy.

      User Problem

Customers would like to be able to quickly change Custom Fields that are visible on the card front, such as dropdown Custom Fields.

Example: A customer has set up a Priority dropdown Custom Field on their board which is visible on the card front. They want to be able to quickly navigate through their cards without opening them and change their priorities quickly from the card front.

      Suggested Solutions

Allow the ability to click on Custom Fields that are visible on the card front and edit them.
This may not be feasible for text and number Custom Field types, but should definitely be possible with checkbox and dropdown fields

      OR
Add the ability to edit Custom Fields with the Quick Edit Mode shortcut by pressing E while hovering over a card.

      Current Workarounds

      None available.

            Hello.
I see a lot of utility in this proposal.
In my opinion, custom fields are a fundamental part of Trello. These fields are ridiculously basic. They can barely be customized. This should be greatly improved to give more freedom when configuring, ordering and interacting with them.
            Greetings.

Thank you very much for considering this feature request.

I feel that this would be helpful and save time.

This feature is available on Asana.

To explain this a bit further, I want to be able to click on Priority in the card below, and change it from Medium to High.

At the moment, when I click on Medium, the whole card opens up.

Then I have to search for the Priority custom field with my mouse.

Then I have to click on the drop down menu, and select High.

And finally I have to click elsewhere, to close the card.

I feel it would be a lot simpler to just click on Medium whilst the card is still closed, and then change the priority to High.

Of course, this would help with other custom fields as well.

I could select the other custom field in the image above and change In Progress to Done, without having to open up the whole card.

Thanks for considering this.   Best wishes
