User Problem

Customers have reached out to request functionality to make changes to mirror cards (e.g. move or archive mirror cards) when changes are made to the source card.

For instance:

1. A user has created a card on one board (Board 1) that has two lists, List A and List B. Their card currently sits in List A
2. They have mirrored their card to another board, Board 2
3. They want to automate the following - when the card on Board 1 moves from List A to List B, the mirror card on Board 2 is archived

This should be possible using the {cardlink} variable:

However, this throws an error, and says that the automation is unable to find the mirror card on the second board.

Suggested Solutions

Fix this issue by either allowing users to target mirror cards by using the {cardlink} variable, or create a new automation action to target mirror cards without using variables.

This has been raised as a bug due to the nature of the variable issue. We can use the {cardlink} variable to create new mirror cards via automation, so it seems to be buggy behaviour that we can't do the same to target and alter mirror cards via automation. However, if this should have been raised as a feature request, feel free to convert this to an FR.

Current Workarounds

None available via automation. Mirror cards must be altered manually.
