User Problem
Users would like to see a Trello feature that allows for deactivation of keyboard shortcuts in the application, which some users believe would contribute to improving work comfort and minimizing the risk of accidental errors.
When users attempt to type in text fields like the Description or Comments in Trello, they often trigger keyboard shortcuts instead, especially if the text area is still loading. The delay in text fields taking over keyboard input leads to unintentional actions being performed on cards. Also, the first time a card is selected on a board, it doesn't automatically highlight the texbox.
Suggested Solutions
Add an option in a Trello user profile settings that allow them to disable keyboard shortcuts.
Consider implementing a feature that temporarily disables or pauses keyboard shortcuts when a text field is loading, or prevent a second shortcut from being activated after the first is pressed. This would ensure that accidental typing during the loading phase doesn't activate shortcuts.
Current Workarounds
You can disable the shortcuts in this link to avoid inconsistencies while typing on your cards.
