Issue Summary

To deliver an SMS message to a UAE phone number, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) government now requires organizations to have pre-registered Sender IDs, otherwise, SMS messages will be blocked from being delivered.

Because Atlassian does not have a Sender ID in the UAE, on July 28th SMS notifications for UAE phone numbers will be temporarily disabled in Statuspage. All other notifications methods will continue to be delivered including email and slack

We are working to complete the necessary paperwork to register our Sender ID in the UAE, and we will be able to begin sending SMS messages to EAU phone numbers again shortly.

We have sent an SMS message to EAU subscribers with an EAU phone number to let them know about this change and have asked them to make sure they have alternative subscription methods enabled.

We will update this ticket once the issue is resolved, and SMS notifications to UAE phone numbers can be delivered again.

Steps to Reproduce

1. Subscribe to a Statuspage with a UAE phone number
2. After July 28th, the sms will stop being delivered

Expected Results

All SMS should be delivered 

Actual Results

SMS to UAE phone numbers are blocked by carrier

Workaround

Please subscribe to Statuspage's via other methods (email, slack, etc.) as we work on getting our Sender ID in the UAE to continue supporting SMS notifications to UAE phone numbers
