Stash and JIRA have different text markup languages

      Please make Stash and JIRA have the same text markup languages. It's hard to remember how to create a link using Markdown or the JIRA formatting. Particularly, things like monospace {{}} on JIRA vs. backticks on Stash.

            Hi Robert,

            Unfortunately this isn't something we're likely to change in the near future, and at present is not something that is pluggable on the Stash side. We chose Markdown for Stash to be consistent with adoption in the broader software development industry. I will discuss this further with the JIRA team to see if there are any updates since the linked ticket was last addressed.

            For what it's worth, there is an unofficial open-source Markdown plugin for fields in JIRA, but it is not compatible with JIRA 6.x. https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRA-21436 has more details.
