      Hi everyone,

      Thanks for voting and commenting on this suggestion. Bitbucket Server 6.4 has built-in banner feature. Please read the docs to learn more about it - Announcement banner.

      Original request description

      It would be useful to have a freeform text area that you could enter text into - like the Unix / IRC Message Of The Day (MOTD).

      This would appear in the(user home page, or in the header) show that new users could get a description of the installation, and it could be updated (infrequently) with new information for users such as upgrades, or upcoming maintenance downtime.

      I would like to further refine this request to add a PRIORITY or (urgency) to the Message. So that a Message could be in the in the simplist iteration an INFORMATION (where the user can dismiss it if they choose to) or a WARNING where as they CANNOT dismiss it, and that it is HIGHLIGHTED (color?) to assure that user understands the importanncy or urgency of the information.

            The text does not persist.

            With status Off, enter some text, click Save, refresh the page, and the text is gone.

            Meanwhile this feature is implemented or not by Atlassian Team.
            I've decide to expand my existing app Announcement Banner for Confluence and now is also available on Bitbucket for FREE.

             

            I'm sure some of you want to gonna a try. So please, visit the official documentation site to find further information about this application.

            Come on Atlassian, 6 years for such a basic feature...

            Can you please provide an ETA? How far is your 'mid-term roadmap'? Do we have any chance to see this feature in 2019?
