Description
I decided to upgrade my Version 1.9 Source Tree to Version 2.3.1.
I did so to find that my cached password was old and needed to be reset.
I navigated to the Options > Authentication Tab.
Source Tree Version 2.3.1 Does Not Display My Saved Password for My GIT Host.
There is no way to update my password using Version 2.3.1.
I tried doing a Git Fetch from the Git Bash thinking this might help.
I was prompted and I was able to access the Git Origin successfully from the Bash but that did nothing to update my cached credential after specifying my new password.
The only way I was able to change my password was to reinstall Version 1.9 where I still could see my cached Host Password. There I could either Edit or Delete that Credential and be prompted to enter a new password.
Once I did that I was able to open SourceTree 2.3.1 and interact with my Git Origin.
I wasted 2 hours out of my morning playing around with this.
I am surprised this is not a wide spread issue.
I am not doing anything special here.
I have not tweaked anything or done anything special with GIT
