SourceTree crashed during update installation. Re-ran update successfully, but SourceTree can no longer open existing local repositories and gives the following error message:

'git status' failed with code 128: fatal: unable to access
'N:\/.config/git/config': Invalid argument
(C:\Users\<folder_name>

git fsck --full shows that repository is fine. Both System Git and Embedded Git does not work well, but Git Bash shows the repository as intended. Which means possibly the issue is with SourceTree.
