Commit progress dialog sometimes locks up

    • Type: Bug
    • Resolution: Fixed
    • Priority: Medium
    • 1.9.5-beta-0
    • Affects Version/s: 1.9.3-beta-1
    • Component/s: None
    • Environment:

      Windows 8.1 64bit

During commit the progress dialog/console output sometimes locks up and will not close. It finally crashes with a windows exception 0xc00000fd (stackoverflow).

I'm committing to a private repo.

Unable to provide logs as it appears 1.9.3-beta-1 is not logging anything (I can only find logs for 1.9.2.1)

      Work Around

Manually switch to the "File Status" tab rather than using the "Commit" toolbar option when you want to carry out a commit.

      Cause

When using the "Commit" option SourceTree records the current tab, e.g. "Log", "Search", so that it can return the user there after completing the commit. After some refactoring of the commit view, to fix its location in the "File Status" tab etc, a loop was generated where the switch back to the old tab would trigger a refresh of the old view, which would finalize the previous commit, in turn refreshing the old view etc.

When manually selecting the "File Status" tab the loop is avoided because there is no 'old' tab to return to.
