I had just deleted a repository and recreated it in stash. I then deleted it an was going to reclone it in sourcetree. When I went to reclone my repository in sourcetree a received a notice that an update was available for sourcetree and would I like to apply it. So I responded yes but when source tree finished updating itself I tried to clone my new repository instance but sourcetree crashes each time I try. I had successfully performed the exact same sequence many times in the past prior to the update. But performing an update in the middle of my normal sequence of tasks has led to this problem.

I received a message from sourcetree that it had crashed which asked me to report this problem and to attach the sourcetree.log file.
