I find the new "Nothing to commit" view/mode very annoying. I understand the intention to provide appropriate feedback for when there is actually nothing to do, but the change from the "usual" three-pane layout creates visual noise that screams for attention when there's actually nothing to do. I usually have SourceTree open on my second screen, so this is a permanent nuisance in my peripheral vision.
Please change this back to a layout that more resembles the usual "Working copy" view, with empty lists instead of this strange full-area "Nothing to do" view. Really spoils a product I just started to really appreciate.
