Description
When running a version upgrade of Sourcetree offered in the program, it doesn't update the version number stored in the Windows registry. This causes a outdated version number to appear in the Windows Installed Programs list.
This is also an issue when working with the winget package manager, as it shows that there is an upgrade available for Sourcetree, even if I already installed it.
This can be easily fixed by updating the value of the "DisplayVersion" DWORD under "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\SourceTree" while running the in-app updater.
Steps to repro:
- Install a outdated version of Sourcetree and verify the version under Windows Settings > Apps > Installed Apps
- Open Sourcetree and accept the upgrade notification.
- After the upgrade has been installed, verifiy the version number in the Installed Apps list vs the actual Sourcetree version.
