'Modified files' Not Consistent With Diff Window For Line Endings

File .ccsproject is shown as modified but the diff pane indicates otherwise. I suspect that the differences are only line endings. I can only suspect because:

a) The diff pane cannot be made to show difference in line endings.

b) The External Diff tool (Beyond Compare) will not launch.

This can be fixed as follows:

• Please show line endings difference in the Diff window when 'Show whitespace' is selected.
• Please launch 'External Diff' unconditionally.
