    Description

Apparently, ST uses the File Status view when opening or switching (after a program restart) to a different repository.  I can see how heads-down developers working on large projects would like this.  But I don't fit that profile.  I'm a support person with only a few changes in a lot of repos, and the File Status view is for all intents and purposes useless to me.

The ideal solution (IMHO and use case) would be to be able to set the initial view, either globally or by repo (although, while more flexible, might be cumbersome to set).

Another possible solution, which would largely work in my use case, would be to display the File Status view when there are changes needing a commit but when there are none, use the History view.

      Thanks for your consideration,

      Carl

P.S., I didn't see a way to search for this request.  Sorry if it's a dup.
