On the screen to write the commit log,
I should be able to

• type in Japanese,
• press the space bar to select a candidate for Kanji,
• and then continue to type in the punctuation.

Although the punctuation appears for a moment, it disappears.
This happens at any version of Sourcetree (2.6.10 - 3.4.4).

This is caused by new version IME.
Older version IME has no problem.

コミットログを書く画面で、
日本語を入力して、スペースキーを押して、漢字の候補を選択した後、
続けて句点を入力できるはずですが、
句点が一瞬表示されるものの、消えてしまいます。
これは、SourceTreeのどのバージョンでも起きます (2.6.10 - 3.4.4)。

新しいバージョンのIMEで起きてます。
「以前のバージョンのIME」だと問題ありません。
