I often try things and discard them afterward and it's getting annoying to have to first discard then remove the orig file, with a prompt to be sure for each operation.

Suggestion: add a check box or a button in the discard prompt to allow the user to choose to not generate the orig file (either by using mercurial options or by deleting it after the discard automatically).
