OS: macOS 13.6.6 · Apple Silicon
Steps to reproduce: # Open a repository in the repository browser
- Click the Remote tab
Result: Sourcetree crashes immediately. Apple error dialog was produced.
Crash details:
- Exception: EXC_BREAKPOINT (SIGTRAP)
- libdispatch diagnostic: BUG IN CLIENT OF LIBDISPATCH: Semaphore object deallocated while in use
- Crashed thread dispatch queue: com.bitbucket.teams.requests
- Faulting frames: _dispatch_semaphore_dispose → _dispatch_dispose → _Block_release
Apparent cause: Opening the Remote tab triggers a request on the com.bitbucket.teams.requests queue to enumerate Bitbucket workspaces. That code path appears to release a GCD dispatch semaphore while it still has an outstanding
count, so libdispatch traps and kills the app. It reproduces when the cached hosting-services data is out of sync with the current account state.
Workaround: Quit Sourcetree, then remove or rename these cached files so they rebuild on next launch:
- ~/Library/Application Support/SourceTree/hostingservices_new.plist - cached Bitbucket workspaces list (the file the crashing queue reads; this is the trigger)
- ~/Library/Caches/com.torusknot.SourceTreeNotMAS/Cache.db (plus its -shm and -wal companions) - HTTP response cache
Relaunch and open the Remote tab; Sourcetree regenerates both cleanly. Reinstalling or updating alone does not fix it, as this data persists in ~/Library outside the app bundle.
Now I am greeted with a 'connect' window as I should be.
