In the File Status view, the pane that shows the list of files can collapse to zero width and be hard/impossible to expand.

In community discussions about this bug, some people have suggested suboptimal ways of re-expanding the pane, but these are unintuitive and unreliable (none have worked for me, for instance).

I am marking the priority as high because the bug makes viewing diffs in the working branch impossible (core functionality), the issue has been present since May, and multiple people have been affected.

Really hope to see this fixed. File view may have a minimum width (predefined) or, add a show/restore File View option .

I am amazed to see that this bug is still open. Any reason for this not getting picked up on priority?

I have the same issue - it's a real pain and now using another solution whilst waiting a fix.

It happened to me too. Please fix this!

I've had this issue many times.

My workaround is to restart my Mac.

When I open SourceTree after restarting, the list is now narrowly open and I can drag the right edge to widen it.

thanks 209c1fa893e7 ! indeed suffered the same issue and was only able to apply the workaround once downgraded from 4.2.8 to 4.2.7 - this should be fixed with high priority - it caused me wasting quite a lot of time to find the above workaround

I had the same issue, and downgrading thankfully resolved it for me in the same way (I was able to re-expand the pane).

I downgraded to 4.2.7 and I was able to re-expand the pane with the mouse (none of the extra steps suggested in the discussions linked above were necessary; precise mouse placement was enough). To reiterate, nothing seemed to work in 4.2.8.
