I spent an hour or more looking through every single configuration option to try and get back the unified behavior previously present.
For decades as part of DVCS flow I go through the changes then hit commit to write the notes going through the file changes.  Now this flow is broken and I'm looking for an alternative app to use unless there's some option I've missed?

I no longer have confidence in my commit because the flow now switches me to a window with just file names and no way to view the per file Dif as I'm writing the commit msg.  Shame!!!
