Description
Context
After a long while I've restarted Sourcetree on mac. Upon restarting it errors with this:
'git log' failed with code 6:'dyld: Symbol not found: ___darwin_check_fd_set_overflow Referenced from: /Applications/Sourcetree.app/Contents/Resources/git_local/bin/git (which was built for Mac OS X 12.4) Expected in: /usr/lib/libSystem.B.dylib in /Applications/Sourcetree.app/Contents/Resources/git_local/bin/git '
So:
- My mac is on 10.14 Mojave.
- Looks like from the 4.1.9 release notes that git was upgraded, and apparently to a version that requires Mac 12.4.
- After some effort, the work around was to switch Sourcetree to use the system git.
Expected Outcomes
- Please put out a new release 4.1.x that provides a version of git that supports Mojave so that affected users can simply "upgrade" their version out of this issue.
- Please update your release notes. The CVE is double pasted so the link is broken.
- Please be more conscious about OS support of your 3rd party integrations.
