I'm not sure if this is new or just haven't noticed it yet. 

The "discard file" option will discard the entire file, including staged parts. It feels wrong because the window shows unstaged parts of a file, and the user will assume that only these parts will be discarded.

I chose "critical" because it makes changes that the user may not notice and which may not be able to be restored.
