When clicking on the "File Status" of my repository, I configured my Sourcetree to show "Pending Files, Sorted By Path", in a "Flat List with Multiple Columns" and "Split View Staging".

The view has three columns: The left most one is the grey workspace pane, incl. the branches, remotes, etc. The second one are the two fields for staged and unstaged files. The third one is the diff window.

When I now try to resize the different columns to my needs, the other two columns get automatically resized as well and this resizing does not work for me at all. I can make the column with the un-/staged files a maximum of maybe 300px in width, before the other columns magically gain width as well, making the column that I actually want to increase (the file one) effectively smaller. This is super annoying.

This behavior has emerged very recently and, unfortunately, breaks Sourcetrees staging and diff functionality for me. I am switching to the terminal for now and hope that this gets resolved as soon as possible.

[SRCTREE-6895] Resizing of Columns in "File Status" is Broken

More testing.  Re-opening Sourcetree entirely after re-enabling split view does seem to restore the split pane, however resizing causes the staging options to go away entirely.  Not entirely sure what all is going on here but it looks like it definitely needs another look.

I found the split view staging option in the UI, but unfortunately it doesnt seem to do anything.  My guess is that the second pane is still there but ends up with a width of 0 and there doesnt seem to be a way of grabbing one of the porders to expand it.

This issue seems to have caused other issues for me.  When I try to resize the diff preview column, sometimes it causes the window to turn off "Split View Staging" and I cant figure out how to turn it back on.  The only workaround that I have been able to find so far has been to completely reset the UI state by removing the plist files.  Not sure if this is considered a separate issue but it definitely seems to be related to this fix.  This issue seems to be more impactful than the original one as now I cant seem to be able to get back to split view.
