      SourceTree 3.0 (198) on Mac OS X 10.13.6

    • Severity 2 - Major

I’m seeing extremely high CPU usage (up to 115% according to Activity Monitor) using Sourcetree 3 Beta (198) on macOS High Sierra (10.13.6). This happens even when there are no Sourctree windows open.

I’ve seen this happen before on an older macbook using the current stable release of Sourcetree so it’s disappointing to see that it happens again with the new version.

Even when the CPU usage goes down it doesn’t seem to go below ~25%, which still seems unreasonable. This is draining my MacBook’s batteries and is deterring me from using Sourcetree at all.

(I previously reported this on the Beta Group mailing list, but was asked by Manjunath Basaralu Srinivasa to open a new ticket with a spindump. I was unable to create a spindum, so I've attached a sample instead.)
