It would really helpful if the diffs in Sourcetree would highlight the specific changes on the lines that changed.

This is being done in Bitbucket. For example, in this commit, some lines have been modified. For those modified lines, the specific changes in those lines are highlighted. This is a really cool feature of bitbucket and would be really useful in Sourcetree.
