When you click the "Push" button in the toolbar, the UI shows you local branch name and remote branch name and even lets you edit the remote branch name, sort of suggesting it would be possible to push to any remote branch.
However, when the push operation is done, the remote branch that was pushed to has exactly the same name as the local branch. SourceTree effectively ignores the remote branch name given in the UI.
