File change detection has degraded in 1.9.5

Prior to 1.9.5, SourceTree was very responsive in picking up changed files - as soon as the window was focused it would detect the changes.

However, this has deteriorated in 1.9.5 (which I installed only an hour ago). Files aren't picked up as changed for an extended period of time (ten seconds or more).
