This is a regression, it used to work fine in 1.7.2 (not sure about newer ones).
Right-clicking a non-merged branch and not turning on the "force delete" checkbox still deletes a branch.
If one's used to SourceTree not allowing to do that, one can easily remove a non-merged branch, leading to loss of data.
I think it's a serious issue.
