Commit dialog sorting always reverts to filename

Whenever I choose commit in a mercurial repository in 1.6.4.1, the commit dialog is always sorted by filename, even if it was set to sort by the "?" column (which i'll call file status) on the previous commit and in the the main window of the repo. In previous versions the commit dialog would remember it's sorting column (I think - if I am wrong about it remembering, at least it was always set to the "?" column, which would make sense - so that you can see the files you're about to commit at top if you have many untracked files in your repository). Always reverting to filename sorting in the commit dialog is inconvenient, because it often requires a re-sort of the list to easily see all the files you're about to commit.
